Alongia ("we", "our", or "us") is a travel planning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you use our mobile application ("App").
By using Alongia, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information: name and email address (via Sign in with Apple or Google)
- Trip data: destinations, dates, places, notes, and expenses you add
- Photos you upload to your trips
Information collected automatically:
- Device identifiers (device model, OS version, app version)
- App usage events (e.g. trips created, AI features used, screens viewed) — collected via Firebase Analytics and not linked to your identity
- In-app purchase and subscription status
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the Alongia service
- To sync your trips across devices
- To generate AI-powered travel suggestions and notes
- To process subscriptions and restore purchases
- To send important service-related communications
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
- To understand how features are used and improve the product (analytics)
Analytics
Alongia uses Firebase Analytics (by Google) to collect anonymised usage data such as which features are used, how often the app is opened, and general interaction patterns. This data:
- Is not linked to your name, email, or account
- Does not include advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Is used only to improve the app experience
- Is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy
We do not use this data for targeted advertising or share it with advertisers.
Third-Party Services
Alongia uses the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud storage, and analytics
- RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase tracking
- Anthropic Claude API — AI-generated travel suggestions and notes
- Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In — secure account authentication
Each of these services has its own privacy policy and data practices. We encourage you to review them.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only:
- With service providers listed above, solely to operate the App
- With other trip members you explicitly invite via a share link
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your trips and personal data from our servers within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent at any time
Children's Privacy
Alongia is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us their data, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
